Notes in the Music lyrics

[Verse 1]
Taxi driver
Be my shrink for the hour
Leave the meter running
It's rush hour
So take the streets if you wanna
Just outrun the demons, could you

[Hook]
He said "
Allah hu akbar", I told him don’t curse me
"Bo Bo, you need prayer" - I guess it couldn't hurt me
If it brings me to my knees
It's a bad religion
This unrequited love
To me it's nothing but a one-man cult
And cyanide in my Styrofoam cup
I can never make him love me
Never make him love me

Love me
Love me
Love me
Love me
Love me
Love me
Love

[Verse 2]
Taxi driver
I swear I've got three lives
Balanced on my head like steak knives
I can't tell you the truth about my disguise
I can't trust no one

[Hook]

[Outro]
It's a bad religion
To be in love with someone
Who could never love you
I know
Only bad religion
Could have me feeling the way I do

[Verse 1]

Be my shrink for the hour
Leave the meter running

So take the streets if you wanna
Just outrun the demons, could you

[Verse 1]

With this I could guess that the singer is talking to a taxi driver and by saying “be my shrink for the hour” it may imply that the singer wants someone to listen to his problems without judging him as he wants someone to listen to what he has to say, it may be something that he can’t trust anyone that he knows by talking to a stranger “the Taxi driver” which could also give him a point of view from someone that don’t know much about the situation he is going through he continues by saying “leave the meter running” this shows that even without having a destination he will pay for the journey and showing that he don’t know how long the travel is going to be so he could have time to tell the Taxi Driver everything he wants to, as it was a rush hour which may imply it was traffic and could take longer than normal. The artist suggests that the Taxi Drive could take the streets where the traffic would be slow in giving him time to speak everything.
“Just outrun the demons, could you” this phrase suggests a lot of things one of would be that he wants to get away from the people that may judge him from what he wants to tell the Taxi drive, also could imply that the artist wants the driver to take him far from the people he knows leaving these people behind.

[Hook]
He said "
Allah hu akbar", I told him don't curse me
"Bo Bo, you need prayer" - I guess it couldn't hurt me
If it brings me to my knees
It's a bad religion
This unrequited love
To me it's nothing but a one-man cult
And cyanide in my Styrofoam cup
I can never make him love me
Never make him love me

The Taxi driver answer the artist in Arabic “Allah Hu Akbar” by this we can conclude that the driver speaks Arabic as the driver said a Muslim prayer meaning “God is great” in English could suggest that the Taxi driver is from the Islamic religion which is common in the U.S people that emigrate from the Islamic background got to taxi business showing that he was concerned about the artist.
The artist answer the taxi driver thinking that he was cursing him for what I may have said or have to say not knowing that he was a Muslim prayer.
Again the Driver reaffirms that the artist needs prayer and in that line the driver used the word “Bo Bo” for what I could find out it is the same as addressing someone younger by Boy/Kid in some African mode.
The conversation continues with the artist saying that the prayer wouldn’t hurt him, I didn’t understand what he meant by saying that but I can consider that a sarcastic answer as he knows the religions don’t accept him for what he is and even with a prayer God wouldn’t forgive him. The artist consider that the religions that brings him to his knees is a bad religion as he have to beg for forgiveness humiliating because the it doesn’t accept him for what he is and also shows that he loves god even knowing that he won’t be love back uses “unrequited” to describe the love between him and God.
“Cults are often formed around a charismatic leader who doesn’t really care about his followers and just uses them to advance his own agenda without truly devoting himself to them”
The Cyanide in his Styrofoam cup is a reference to Jim Jones, the man who originated the “People’s Temple” cult or “religion” as it was called. Jim Jones killed himself and the majority of his followers by forcing them to drink Kool-Aid poisoned with cyanide in the ‘70s. This actually gave rise to the phrase “drinking the Kool-Aid”, which means you’ve been blindly convinced to believe something or someone
The next line he showing that is losing his hope about making God love him twice by saying “I can never make him love me
Never make him love me”

Love me
Love me
Love me
Love me
Love me
Love me
Love

This shows that he telling God to love him to accept him the way he his repeating several times to demonstrate he is harassment and sufferings.
Taxi driver
I swear I've got three lives
Balanced on my head like steak knives
I can't tell you the truth about my disguise
I can't trust no one

Continues his conversation with the taxi driver by saying that he got three lives, maybe he his referring to the fact that he is not sure about his sexuality and the three lives would be about being Bisexual, Straight or Gay.
I can tell you the Truth about my disguise” this shows that he can’t even trust the driver to tell him everything about his sexuality. It also implies that the artist don’t trust no one not even a stranger to tell what is going on in his life which is depressing and It’s hard to trust people with this secret.
